Hashimoto is obviously a fan of the Dragon Ball franchise as the robots which help Kaz and Shiro look awfully like Giru. One of them even shouts "Danger, danger!" But similar Giru. Another similarity to DBZ is when Shiro transforms, it's exactly like an oozaru transformation. And Ryu shares personality and facial features with the infamous Infant in Dragon Ball. Whether Hashimoto stole these ideas or used them as a nod towards a series he respects is unknown.
